Infinite Chess Minds - 1st District Chess Tournament

The INFINITE CHESS MINDS – 1st Coimbatore District Level Rapid Chess Tournament was formally inaugurated on 25th December 2025 at Sri Jayendra Saraswathy Vidyalaya CBSE School, Singanallur.

The inauguration was graced by the presence of the following dignitaries:

•  Dr. Kavin Bharathi, MBBS, MS, MCh (AIIMS), Neurosurgeon – GKNM Hospital

As part of the traditional inauguration, Mrs. Sujatha K and Dr. Kavin Bharathi made the ceremonial first move on the chessboard, officially declaring the tournament open.

Following the inaugural proceedings, the tournament commenced sharply at 10:00 AM as per the published schedule. With around 390 participants competing across various categories, all players were seated at their respective boards on time, and the rounds began under the supervision of certified arbiters, ensuring smooth conduct and strict adherence to CDCA and FIDE norms.

During the event, there was an interaction session where the dignitaries engaged in discussion with the organizers and arbiters. The discussion focused on:

•  Encouraging competitive exposure at the district level

•  Supporting structured chess activities within educational institutions
