There are victories that bring home trophies, and there are victories that become milestones in an academy's journey.

For Infinite Chess Minds, the 5th Textile City Tamil Nadu State Level Children's & Open Chess Tournament 2026 will always hold a special place in our hearts. It was at this tournament that Shri Varshini T scripted history by winning her first State-Level Championship, becoming the first student from Infinite Chess Minds to achieve this remarkable milestone. More than just lifting a trophy, this victory symbolises years of dedication, perseverance, discipline, and the unwavering belief that consistent effort always leads to extraordinary results.

The moment she stood on the podium holding the championship trophy was not simply the end of a tournament. It was the beginning of a new chapter—not only in her chess career but also in the history of Infinite Chess Minds.

Every champion has a story that begins long before the applause.

Varshini's journey has never been about chasing quick victories. From the day she joined Infinite Chess Minds, she embraced the process of learning. Every coaching session, every practice game, every tournament, and every defeat became an opportunity to improve. She approached chess with curiosity, patience, and a genuine desire to become better than she was yesterday.

Her dedication extends far beyond academy hours. She regularly practices on Lichess, solves puzzles, analyses games, and stays in constant touch with her coaches. Improvement has become part of her daily routine rather than something reserved only for tournament days. That consistency has gradually transformed her into the confident and composed player we see today.

The championship itself was a reflection of that preparation. Throughout the tournament, Varshini displayed exceptional composure, sharp calculation, and mature decision-making. She finished with a perfect score of 5 out of 5, secured First Place, recorded an outstanding performance rating of 2212, and even defeated a rated opponent along the way. Every round strengthened her confidence until she eventually lifted the championship trophy with a flawless performance.

However, no young champion reaches such heights alone.

Behind every successful child stands a family that quietly sacrifices time, comfort, and countless weekends. In Varshini's journey, that unwavering support has come from her father, Mr. Thirunavukarasu.

For him, chess has never been just another extracurricular activity—it has been a dream worth nurturing. Week after week, he has travelled with Varshini to tournaments across Tamil Nadu, ensuring she never missed an opportunity to compete. Long journeys, early mornings, and entire Sundays dedicated to chess became part of their routine. Distance was never considered an obstacle; every tournament was viewed as another opportunity for his daughter to learn and grow.

What makes his support even more inspiring is the confidence he has always shown in her passion. While academics remain important, he often tells Varshini that scoring around 60–70% in school is sufficient if she continues to sincerely pursue excellence in chess while growing into a disciplined and responsible individual. That belief gave her the freedom to chase her dreams without fear, knowing her family stood firmly beside her.

His encouragement has always been accompanied by meaningful actions.

Instead of rewarding only victories, he chose to reward dedication and progress. Whenever Varshini achieved important milestones or secured top-three finishes, he celebrated those moments by investing further in her chess journey. He gifted her an iPad to support her preparation, purchased a professional chess clock so she could practice under tournament conditions, and even took her to Chennai, where chess gave her the unforgettable experience of travelling on a flight for the very first time.

These were never simply gifts.

They were reminders that hard work deserves recognition and that dreams become stronger when families believe in them wholeheartedly.

Of course, opportunities alone never create champions.

Varshini accepted every opportunity with maturity and responsibility. She understood the sacrifices her parents were making and honored those sacrifices through disciplined practice, continuous learning, and an unwavering commitment to improvement. She never allowed success to make her complacent or defeats to discourage her. Instead, every tournament became another stepping stone in her development.

As coaches, moments like these remind us why we started Infinite Chess Minds.

Watching a student develop from learning the basics of chess to standing proudly as a State-Level Champion is a feeling beyond words. Varshini's victory is not merely her personal achievement—it is a proud moment for every coach, every student, and every parent associated with our academy. It is proof that patience, consistency, and teamwork between coaches, students, and parents truly produce remarkable results.

Today, Shri Varshini T is more than a champion.

She has become an inspiration for every student who enters Infinite Chess Minds carrying a dream. Her journey reminds us that success is not built overnight. It is created through thousands of small decisions choosing to practice one more game, analyze one more position, travel to one more tournament, and believe in one more opportunity.

Her championship is not just a trophy on a shelf.

It is a symbol of discipline, determination, family support, and the power of trusting the process.

While this may be her first State-Level Championship, we firmly believe it is only the beginning of an exciting journey filled with many more achievements.

The entire Infinite Chess Minds family extends its heartfelt congratulations to Shri Varshini T and expresses its deepest gratitude to Mr. Thirunavukarasu and her entire family for their unwavering trust, sacrifices, encouragement, and belief in our vision.

Today, we celebrate not just a champion but the beginning of a legacy.

Congratulations, Varshini! May this be the first of many championship victories to come.
